Verdura Blue Chalcedony Pebble Bracelet

Duke Fulco di Verdura was one of the most important jewelry designers of the 20th century. Known for his early work with Coco Chanel, particularly his iconic Maltese Cross Cuffs, he opened his first shop in New York in 1939, attracting clients including Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich. With pieces composed of brightly colored gemstones set in gold, his designs transcended the styles of the time.

Verdura preferred the broader palette of semi-precious stones, using both faceted and cabochon examples his pieces. The Pebble Bracelet is a perfect example of his bold, yet understated style. Luscious chalcedony pebbles are set in a gold rope-design framework, calling to mind his youth on the Sicilian coast.
