Henrik Wigström (1862-1923) was one of the most important Fabergé work-masters. He joined the firm in 1884 as assistant to Michael Perchin and upon Perchin’s death in 1903 he became head work-master. The two were responsible for almost all of the Imperial Easter eggs produced by Fabergé, as well as superbly crafted enamel and gold objects of art and accessories of which this cigarette case is an excellent example.
